#14 and #48 on Twisty’s list of food he likes, Green Tea and Custard in that order.
As requested by the missus I served an apple and bramley crumble for dessert tonight, so I thought what better chance to cross off something on the list by pouring copious amounts of custard on it =3 I’m a big fan of custard, but I always prefer it cold so that’s how I served my own.
The Green Tea I decided would be a good opportunity to get out of the way because I fancied a cup of something hot to go with my pudding. I’ve always been a bit cautious about herbal teas, always expecting them to either taste foul or not taste of anything. Admittedly on first sips it tasted of absolutely nothing, so I checked the box for serving suggestions. I was informed it goes nice with either sugar or honey, so I chose honey.
I’ve got to say, I’m a convert :) not only did it taste lovely but it was a nice change from a usual cup of tea and certainly bloody better than that coffee from earlier! The only down side is that it went straight through me and within minutes I was rushing to the toilet, but I’ve been told from our resident tea expert that it’s a perfectly normal side effect and is evidence of its properties of detoxing the kidneys.
I was also told that a cup of green tea a day is enough to lower the risk of a whole number of medical conditions. I don’t know how valid that statement is, but I’m willing to give it a go. Definitely something I’ll be trying again soon :) Thanks Twisty!
